CoreInterval – Interval Timer
This Privacy Policy describes how CoreInterval – Interval Timer (“the App”) is handled by Step Interactive, LLC (“we,” “us,” or “developer”).
1. Information Collection
CoreInterval – Interval Timer does not require accounts and does not use advertising SDKs or third-party analytics. Most features operate fully offline.
Optional feedback submission
The App provides a completely optional way to submit feedback to the developer. If you choose to submit feedback, the App will transmit the information you provide (and some basic app/device details) to Step Interactive so we can review and respond.
Feedback data may include:
- Type of feedback (Bug, Feature, Feedback)
- Message (the contents you enter)
- Email (optional) — you can include an email address if you want the developer to respond
- App version
- Platform (e.g., Android or iOS)
- Device model
- Device UUID — generated per install (not your device’s system identifier)
If you do not use the feedback feature, we do not receive the feedback fields listed above.
What we do not collect
- We do not require accounts
- We do not collect precise location
- We do not collect contacts, photos, or files
- We do not sell personal data
The App may access files you explicitly choose on-device (for example, when importing an audio file), but we do not collect or upload those files.
2. Payments
The App includes an optional supporter payment that unlocks a supporter badge.
All payments are processed exclusively by the relevant app store platform (Apple App Store / Google Play). Step Interactive, LLC does not receive, store, or process any personal or financial information.
3. How we use feedback data
If you submit feedback, we use the information to:
- Troubleshoot bugs and improve the App
- Understand feature requests and general feedback
- Respond to you (only if you provide an email address)
- Prevent duplicate reports and help track issues (using the per-install UUID)
4. Sharing and disclosure
We do not sell your personal data. We do not share feedback submissions with third parties for advertising.
If you submit feedback, the App sends the feedback payload to Step Interactive via an HTTPS (encrypted) POST request. Feedback submissions are accessible to Step Interactive and are stored in a Google Sheet (in a Step Interactive-controlled Google account) to help us track and respond to reports.
Google may process this data as a service provider (for example, as part of Google Sheets / Google Workspace). Service providers processing data on our behalf provide protections consistent with this policy. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights and users.
5. Local Device Storage
Any app preferences or configuration data are stored locally on your device only and are never transmitted.
6. Permissions and Background Behavior
Depending on your platform and the features you use, the App may request permissions such as:
- Microphone (to record custom voice cues)
- Notifications / foreground service (to keep timers reliable with the screen off on Android)
- Battery optimization exemption prompt (Android; optional, for reliability)
These permissions are used only to enable the relevant features on your device. They do not change the App’s offline behavior, and we do not collect or transmit this data.
7. Data retention
If you submit feedback, we retain it only for as long as reasonably necessary to address your request, improve the App, and maintain our records (for example, to track bug history). You can request deletion at any time using the contact information below.
8. Data security
We take reasonable measures to protect feedback submissions, including using HTTPS for transmission. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
9. External Links
The App can open external links (for example, developer website, email, and legal documents). These links open in your browser or email app and are governed by the privacy policies of those services.
10. Children’s Privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information (for example, an email address in a feedback submission), please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
11. Changes to This Policy
If the App’s functionality changes in a way that affects privacy, this Privacy Policy will be updated.
